Many people get confused between downloading (which can be illegal depending on licensing), uploading copyrighted material (which is illegal some places without licensing), and copying or selling material (which is illegal).  Streaming and watching content without downloading is perfectly legal.  The VS2 Box does not download, upload, copy, or store any media.  We have no connection or association with websites that host or store media content.  The VS2 TV Box simply provides the navigation to connect with the websites and streams the data.  The data, which is the content or programming you watch, pass through your Internet cables, through the box to your TV, allowing you to watch it, but it is never stored, copied, or retained.

We, nor the VS2 TV Box, is not the provider of any content either.  The VS2 box merely offers the technology to access content online, and the ability to turn your TV screen into your computer monitor so that you can work from home.

Quotes from a copyright attorney:

“These (the programs) are streams coming from 3rd party websites on the internet.  The VS2 TV Box and VStream does not host or control any of the websites that stream content.  The VS2 device is simply a tool that is set up to search for these streams.”

“Again, the content is streaming.  It is clear from court rulings, that anyone can stream content, even if it’s copyrighted, on their computer, as long as they are not making a copy.  As long as you are not downloading or uploading the content, it is perfectly legal to stream.  Copyright is for copying.  Now, as far as the websites that host the content, I am not sure about their liability.  But VStream does not have any affiliation with any sites that may or may not be infringing on copyrights.”

“This is a gray area for sure.  And it is going to force change in an industry that is fleecing people with the high price of cable and satellite.  This is a technology that is going to help the people by getting cable prices lowered, and lowered dramatically.  We are on the front lines of a revolution.  Let’s face it, cable and satellite prices are through the roof and the content is crap.  Excuse my language.  It is time we take control of our entertainment, to be able to watch what we want, when we want, without paying an arm and a leg to get it!”
